Marriott

Every mention, in time. Each mark is a day — taller means more that day — and links to the moment.

Tim’s take

He remembers old-school Marriott fondly as a clean, disciplined, buffet-breakfast standard from childhood 30:37 15:13, but every later mention is about decline: the chain buying up everything, swapping real room service for "bistro" boxed food, and absorbing luxury brands like the Ritz-Carlton and Saint Regis into the same mediocrity 5:46 15:13. By the end he's just cursing it outright for ruining hotels on the road 1:00:08, and uses the "Marriott bistro" as shorthand for a miserable, low-authority service job 1:00:27.
