Tim’s take
Four Seasons is his benchmark for what a good hotel actually is, going back to childhood brochure-collecting alongside places like the Lowell 42:10, and he still name-checks it decades later as the reward waiting for him after a lesser resort disappoints him 1:14:56. He states the case for it plainly during the Hamas-Doha story, calling it one of the only hotels with real consistency, good bedding, and decent room service 16:34, and even imagines bonding with Hamas over shared loyalty to the brand, singling out the Four Seasons Surfside as stunning 13:15.
That same defensiveness shows up as a bit about exclusivity: he'll joke that Hamas should be allowed to stay there because kicking them out solves nothing 21:07, and he draws a hard line that homeless people can go in cheap hotels but not the Beverly Hills Hotel or Bel-Air, sparing the Four Seasons in West LA only because there's no real reason to stay there anyway 44:56.
