Fox

Every mention, in time. Each mark is a day — taller means more that day — and links to the moment.

Tim’s take

He mostly uses Fox as one half of the cable-news split with MSNBC, shorthand for the point-counterpoint splintering of news into tabloid reality 1:25:22, and as a place where online obsessives go to spout inane nonsense 10:24. He also treats it as a source of reality-show absurdity, mocking Celebrity Watch Party as tone-deaf during a pandemic 32:15 and calling Special Forces sick while imagining an absurd violent finale 42:36.

The recurring idea is that Fox is purely ratings-driven, and would happily open the Vault of money or bail Trump out of jail to build him a fake presidency show because he is a magnet for eyeballs 11:16 41:53. He lists it alongside other conglomerates merging as part of the general death of cable 28:01, and recalls it as the bigger money offer Sal's group turned down out of nerves when pitching a pilot 1:09:19.
