Blackwater

Every mention, in time. Each mark is a day — taller means more that day — and links to the moment.

Tim’s take

He treats Blackwater as the standing example of a privatized war economy, the company that profited most visibly from the war on terror alongside Halliburton and DynCorp 32:27 52:18 45:45 47:47 1:31:11. The recurring detail he keeps coming back to is that Betsy DeVos was Erik Prince's sister, which he uses as proof the whole arrangement is a family business dressed up as government 17:55 52:18.

Outside that argument, the name is mostly a punchline for generic menace — mercenaries rich people would hire if police vanished, guys you'd have a beer with and not ask questions, an imagined gig performing comedy for contractors 1:01:51 18:40 34:19. He also drops it into an unrelated torture bit purely for the joke of "we're Blackwater, we're America" 27:14.
