Red Lobster

Every mention, in time. Each mark is a day — taller means more that day — and links to the moment.

Tim’s take

He mostly uses Red Lobster as a punchline for cheap, sad American dining — the place you go begging for oyster crackers, or the benchmark for a 2,000-calorie entree 1:03:50 37:23. It also doubles as shorthand for chain-restaurant collapse, with "going the way of Red Lobster" meaning a business that failed to adapt 52:47. Elsewhere he calls its post-church, Black-family customer base a deliberate and successful demographic choice, adding "I love Red Lobster" 1:05:10.
