He treats the Blue Angels as a childhood Long Island memory — driving out to Jones Beach with his father to watch the flyover — but undercuts it every time by pointing out the pilots are effectively decorated war criminals doing tricks in blue planes 34:35 28:39. Elsewhere he uses them as the go-to image of empty patriotism, joking that Long Islanders would cheer if the Blue Angels bombed protesters or that watching them fly over is supposed to make you "proud of being an American" while ignoring who they killed 43:19 41:43.
