Melrose Place

Every mention, in time. Each mark is a day — taller means more that day — and links to the moment.

Tim’s take

He uses Melrose Place mainly as the go-to example of his unsupervised, degenerate boomer childhood — his parents let him watch it as a little kid, and it comes up in the same breath as Arsenio Hall and a baffled parent-teacher conference about it 10:08 13:59 57:37. When he's not telling that story he genuinely rates the show itself, calling it "iconic" and saying he preferred it to Beverly Hills 90210 even though he was in the minority 38:32 20:33. He also reaches for it as shorthand for a time when audiences were predictable, unlike now 30:54.
